Original Stargate DHD - Help

----------------------------------------------------------------
OS Labs Original Stargate DHD V3.4
----------------------------------------------------------------

************************
**** CLEARY MODE ****
************************

This mode of the DHD works in conjunction with the Premium versions of the Cleary Stargate obtained from SGC in the sim "Cleary". The Premium version of the Stargate is needed to access some features like the Iris Control and also dialling via a DHD. We also recommend you update your gate to the most current version by visiting the CSGC to receive your free update.
** NOTE! this DHD's direct dialling function will only work if your gate is v113 or above.

(All text commands have been taken out and replaced with a main menu button as of version 1.3)
To use/control your DHD simply touch the long button on the front of the DHD.

.Text Display.
Text will display and change above your DHD during normal gate operations. Usually this display will read "Stargate idle" to indicate no incoming or outgoing wormholes. This will change to display destinations or origins of wormholes when the gate is open and or active. When entering destinations on the dialing pad, the number corresponding to the symbol you press will be displayed. (This is a good way to memorize the symbols and their corresponding numbers, if you are so inclined)
This display will also lock out if there is an update avaliable and display "Update Avaliable" in replace of the gate info.

.Dialing a "Cleary" Direct Address.
First you must know the direct dial address of the gate you wish to dial. For example:

Stargate Command is dd:30:12:27:14:19:09:36

Second obtain the DHD guide by pressing the "Guide" button on the menu, accept the item and then wear it, this is a HUD item and will make dialling direct addresses much easier for you.

Third look up each number on the guide in order and press the corresponding symbol on the DHD keypad. When you have correctly entered all 7 symbols press the big red button in the center of the DHD to connect to the destination gate.

.dhd: Voice Dial.
The Original Stargate DHD version 3.4 now supports the Alteran dhd: voice dial command - You have Lex Mars to thank for that :)
To use it simply say dhd: rather than dd: before the sim name and the DHD will show you the 6 symbol address while dialling the gate.

.Dialing a "Alteran" Direct Address.
The Alteran address system is much easier to learn and remember then the Cleary direct address system. With Cleary you need to know the 7 number sequence that makes up the address but with the Alteran system all you need to know are 6 simple symbols which you just input right into the DHD without needing to think of look up on the symbols guide,

**IMPORTANT: If you dial an incomplete address or an address with no corresponding destination gate, your DHD will need to be reset before you can enter another address. To reset just use the menu: Menu > Options and "Reset" to reset your DHD. (This will not be needed if your gate is version 113 or above.)

**NOTE: To obtain the direct dial address of a gate you are standing near, simply open the main menu and press "My Address" and the direct dial address of the gate will be displayed in the DHD's info text for 30 seconds. If you are at the gate that does not have an OS DHD just type in "stargate version" and the gate will then tell you it's direct dial address after telling you other information, such as it's current version and free memory etc...

.Random Dial.
To dial a random stargate on the network, simply press the big red button in the center of the DHD without pressing any symbols first, the DHD will light up the address symbols as it dials the gate. If there are any symbols pressed, you may need to reset the DHD first (see above). If you end up at a gate without a DHD and want to continue random dialing, just say "dd:random" to dial the next random gate. If this does not work on a stargate then it is probably an out of date version gate and the owner needs to get the free update.

Note: Random dialing is a great way to find new gates and cool places. We highly recommend this for explorers!

.Iris Control.
This feature has been changed as of version 3.0. You can now access this feature via the main menu and is owner access only as to prevent abuse of the iris/shield.

.Favourite Gate Addresses.
You are able to save your 10 most favourite gate addresses to the DHD which can be called up by pressing the long, dark red button on the front of the DHD.

.Other information.
*This DHD will only work with a gate you own, your gate must also NOT be renamed! The Cleary gates object name must be "Stargate" and for Arcturus gates it should be kept as "Arcturus Stargate" in order for the DHD to link with it.
*This and all other DHD's will only work with premium gates. NOT the free ones. To upgrade your gate to a premium just pay the tip jar at Cleary Stargate Command at least L$500.
*This DHD is copyable, so we recommend you make a copy of the DHD before placing it and keep the original in a safe place.
